bump. Was on page 4, does this still get updated?

P2385 in Norway today.

1/2/2013. #17918 from TMC.

EU P#2406 reported in Norway today.

I don't think a 3 month interval is all that unusual for a made to order vehicle. Some pickup trucks bought from the 'biggies' take 8-10 weeks from order to delivery.

The SSL and S designation lists both begin at 1 and count up. There will be a SSL 4 and a S 4 and they will be separated in delivery sequence by about 250 cars or so. A Senior Tesla representative confirmed this counting sequence. There has been no official release of the number of Founders cars. According to a Senior Tesla representative, there were "about" 40 Founders cars.

17,918 in U.S., so what was the number on 12/31? Im curious how many reservations have been made since the 1/1 price increase.

looks like 17,849 by best account; But the 17,918 number is of jan 2 so we really need a more recent reading to get a sense. Much lower rate no doubt; probably take a month or so to start climbing again after the price increase catching a lot of the pre-jan 1

@Timo;
I suspect mm is awaiting a US 2013 res# or two. None have been posted that I'm aware of.

I made a reservation at the Santa Monica location today at 5pm. I was given #18,175.

So it was a crappy test drive?

By my very rough calculation during what are likely to be the 10 slowest reservation days of the year they still hit a worldwide reservation rate of at least 15K/year (it's hard to know exactly where reservations stood at the end of the 31st).

Take a look here.
Reservation rates are still averaging over 100/day. That is 36k per year.

Wow. 17918 on Jan 2nd in US and now 18175 as of today. That's ~28/day over those nine days. That's a 10k annual run rate for what will definitely be the lowest rate of the whole year (given the hangover from the price increase as of the new year). Very impressive.

@MB3: That includes the last two pre-price increase days, which had the highest reservation rates of the year, so not really indicative of the post increase reservation rate.

Well, you might be right, but it is a moving average since the MT COTY. I don't see any down trend. I guess I've made a prediction. We'll see how it goes....

As of January 10, 2013, projected cumulative reservations and deliveries by end Dec. 2013, using uncorrected count, and taking Apr. 27/09 as start date:

24,619*1,741/1,386 = 30,925
:) ↑
.
Extrapolation from July 1, 2012 base:
13,260 + (24,619 - 13,260)*549/194 = 44,131
:( ↓
.
Extrapolation from October 31, 2012 base:
18,337 + (24,619 - 18,337)*426/71 = 56,029
:( ↓

_________

Daily Reservation rates implied in the three Dec. 31 projections above:

Since Apr. '09: 17.8 :) ↑
.
Since June '12: 56.2 :( ↓
.
Since Oct. '12: 88.4 :( ↓

Taking the corrected number and guesstimated deliveries into account, there were over 16K unfilled reservations at year end.

The global rate in 2013 so far is about 49.

49/week is not bad considering the price increase.

@brianH 49 per ?

I think it's expected to have a drop in reservation after the price increase. If you were thinking about it reserving, you would have done so by Dec. 31. So Dec. reservations was just steeling from Jan. reservations. For this week, any reservation per week is good. I would expect by the end of Jan we will be back to a steady rate.

Willing to bet that 19,090 is in error.

I'm willing to bet the same. My reservation# from today is quite a bit lower.

Jan 10 USA count jumped from 18175 to 19090, increase of 915 in zero days?

Brian H: What do you think about starting 2 new headings:
USA since Dec 31, 2012
Global since Dec 31, 2012

What's interesting is that I upgraded my reservation (rhd Australia P48) to a Signature, but now I have S23. (Upgraded 31st Dec 2012).

Considering that Aussie sigs were up to #38 as of Aug12, what's going on there? Have I been slotted into a previous reservation holder's cancellation?

Hills, the European/Asia numbers are still too erratic and low to worry about, I think I'll wait a couple of months before distinguishing US from Global or Other.

I think there was a "backlog" from the week off at the beginning of Jan. Next week's #s should give a better indication.

Taking the corrected number and guesstimated deliveries into account, there were over 16K unfilled reservations at year end.

It is worth remembering that a res rate of 100 (7 days a week) is over 36K/yr. Not tea bags.
