Illinois - half way between Chicago and St. Louis
The Twin Cities are, in this case, Normal and Bloomington, Illinois. Not to be confused with the nearby Illinois Twin Cities of Champaign and Urbana. And certainly not be confused with the granddaddy of them all -- the Quad Cities of Davenport and Bettendorf (Iowa) and Rock Island and Moline (Illinois). Traditionalists in the Quad Cities insist East Moline is the fourth city, not upstart Bettendorf.

Can get to Chicago from St. Louis with only a 20-30 minute pit stop. Wonder if this comparable to ICE connivence on such a road trip?
YAH. I've been waiting for this so I can get from St. Louis to Chicago and the Great Lakes.
Typically I would stop in Normal and get lunch anyway on my way up.
Downside is it's 173 miles from my house to that parking garage. My 60kW will barely make it in winter. I really didn't expect Tesla to install superchargers in the Midwest this soon. I figured they would start that in the second year round.
Normal is the home of Illinois State Univ....... Alma Mater of basketball star Doug Collins......

This is GREAT! I, too, saw their "Twin Cities" remark, and had to locate the parking ramp, just to confirm it was indeed Bloomington-Normal. A very doable 200 miles from my home in Madison, so that planned trip to the City Museum in St. Louis is ON! Also will hit it on trips to Indiana and Ohio. Slightly longer but, hey, it's a free 150 miles/hour of charge!!!!!!

Why did college students move to Bloomington?
They wanted to be as close to Normal as possible.

Greenville NC is working on plans for a downtown parking deck. I've forwarded this info to someone working on the plans. I hope they get some of these also.
I'm surprised no one has commented on one of the perks of having superchargers situated closer to each other.....the increased speed limit :)
The other big perk of having superchargers more tightly spaced is to alleviate the queuing issue, firstly having more simply means the chance of all being full is lower but secondly if they are more closely spaced and you arrive at one and find it full if you can make it to the next you don't have to wait for a space to clear.
The next one may be just a full as the one you passed by. Tesla is mindful of usage and will expand the number of units at a particular location when usage justifies and available grid power and real estate permit. Harris Ranch and Barstow are examples. You can call the Ownership Experience hotline in advance of your arrival. They can tell you how many units are in use, but they don't have queuing info.
It's a truism that more is more convenient. TM is attempting to optimize its spend, and get maximum mileage for the buck.
