Home charging installation

Most owners choose to install an industrial outlet or wall box at their home or office to charge their Tesla. The Model S charge port is located just in front of the left side tail light, so make sure you install your charging equipment accordingly.

For most home’s grid connections, installing a 22 kW wall box (up to 110 km range per hour) is challenging due to power availability. Most wall boxes can be set for lower charging rates. While you won’t charge at the rate of 110 kilometers per hour of charge, you will be able to enjoy the convenience of a permanently installed wall box at home..
